Software developer

for FLORIDAY: the platform for the floriculture industry What we offer

Do you crack te code?

Are you a developer in heart and soul, do you like to work with new techniques and do your friends also call you the 'software maestro'? Then read on quickly!

This is not your average JEM-id vacancy. We are developing the Floriday platform in collaboration with Royal FloraHolland, the cooperative for floricultural growers. For this platform we are looking for software developers who want to learn from the JEM-id professionals and then move on to the tech team of Royal FloraHolland. This traineeship at JEM-id will vary from 2 - 3 years, depending on your level and personal development. A unique opportunity to learn the tricks from our Floriday experts, so that you can use your knowledge for the Royal FloraHolland tech team. Do you seize the opportunity to further digitize the floriculture sector through technical innovations?

Why should you choose this traineeship at JEM-id?

You don't have to worry about working with old software. We work with the latest (front and back-end) techniques such as Angular, React, REST APIs and .NET Core (C#). We also work with services such as Kafka and Amazon Web Services. Don't expect a group of typical nerds, but a young team in which you do everything together to make Floriday better. You can also work hard in times of Covid. Via video calls you can discuss new functionalities with your (Royal FloraHolland) colleagues and with Trello you keep an eye on the planning.

Why we are the best

We are a young and ambitious team with a lot of freedom and responsibility. We are a flat organization, so we have no upper level bosses. Okay, we know one boss: the customer. In the first few years you will work in a product team with which you put a product on the market together and continue to improve the product. Furthermore, we have a lot of freedom here: enough flexible workplaces, unlimited days off and working from home is no problem. In addition, JEM-id is known for many fun (digital) gatherings, drinks and parties. Did you know we have our own cinema and roof terrace? 😜

P.S. Did you know that on friday afternoon we always have lunch with something from the snack bar?

Your working day can look like this

At 9 am you are ready for the digital stand-up via video call. For the time being, we are still partially working from home due to the COVID pandemic, which is why it is extra important to communicate well with your colleagues from JEM-id and Royal FloraHolland. You tell us what you have planned for that day and ask if a fellow developer has a space for you later to discuss a new functionality for Floriday. A new week has started again, so plenty work to do!💪

After lunch you have scheduled a digital appointment with a fellow developer and you discuss your new idea for Floriday. Fortunately, you share the same vision, and after an hour you can roll out a nice plan.

After the appointment you immediately start programming and you end up completely in the flow. You look at the clock, it's that late again? Time to go home!
